Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Award Program

Program Details

The mission of the Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development CoalitionHalyburton 2006 (SDC) is to encourage and recognize outstanding development that protects, conserves, improves, and provides awareness of our natural resources in the Lower Cape Fear region.

The SDC is comprised of approximately 14 individuals from applicable county offices, businesses and organizations. Meetings are held throughout each year and sub-committees are formed in the following areas:

Finance Committee
Awards Committee
Outreach & Education Committee
Events Committee
Bylaws Committee

Based on specific requirements and criteria, planned projects are judged by an independent Selection Committee. Winners are awarded special levels of distinction within three categories. Projects may be determined worthy of “Outstanding Stewardship”, “Significant Achievement” or “Special Recognition”. For the complete policy, please refer to the awards program policy.

The Selection Committee

The independent Selection Committee, made up of recognized experts in applicable fields, review applications submitted to the Stewardship Program. Sponsoring agencies appoint professionals to serve as members of this independent Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to revoke recognition for failure to comply with program requirements or criteria.

Awards Banquet

Each year's award recipients are honored at the annual Awards Banquet. This year's Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 101 Stone Chimney Place — the Brunswick County Realtor’s Association Facility in Supply, N.C..
